The tea dress was created for the Weismann Art Museum show “Eye Candy”. The objective was to create a garment from unconventional materials that focused on hospitality surrounding food. The designer was inspired by the Japanese tea ceremony and the time, craft and specific courtesy that goes into it. As well as the tea houses that still require each person to bend down through their doors and accept the same level of any other participant in doing so. The garment itself is made of used tea bags and LED lights for the base and cocktail umbrellas for the corset. The look is completed with a paper fan as a headdress.
